Celebrating Chinese New Year in Style

Article by Caitlin Taylor

With this week marking the start of the new Chinese New Year, the year of the Fire Rooster, we decided to have a look at two of the lucky colours to wear this year - Red and Gold.

Red and gold are both easy colours to add to your wardrobe as an accent, rather than going all out head to toe!

So I've done some research, and I've found some great items to help bring you some luck in 2017 by adding a bit of extra red and gold to your look.

Max "classic red" nail polish $15
Mi Piaci "Lillian" wallet in rose gold $130
Country Road charm cuff $79.90
Overland "Fleet" high heel in red $199.90
Yves Saint Laurent Rouge Pur Couture Pure Colour Satiny Radiance from Farmers $65
Portmans off shoulder tie sleeve top $49.95

So now you have some lucky pieces, but HOW do you add them to your wardrobe? Well I've got a couple of expert tips...

RED - wear brights with other bold colours.
Strong colour works best with another strong colour so match your reds back with shades of black, white or navy.

GOLD - don't over-do it.

Gold is a great accent colour, so you don't need to go over-the-top! Accessories are the obvious choice, or look for a fabric with a gold shimmer through it.

Red and gold are both such beautiful, striking tones, so why not use the excuse of Chinese New Year to add a bit more to your wardrobe - I've given you the shopping list!

Until Next Time, Happy Shopping
Cait xoxo
