Stylist Kerry shares her tips on back to work 101.

It’s back to the office and temperatures (despite the rain) are running high.

One of my most commonly asked questions is what to wear to the office when mentally you are still in shorts and jandals and just the idea of suiting up has you in a sweat.

The key to office outfits during the warmer months is to be mindful of the fabrics you are wearing.

Avoid synthetic fabrics, particularly polyester if you can, unless it’s in a blend and worn as on again/ off again layer like in a blazer. You want to be comfortable and allow your body to breathe.

I love quality cotton, linen blends and viscose (especially good for those who aren’t fans of ironing)

Look for sheer blouses over traditional shirts, cotton knit tanks and tops to wear on their own or comfortably under your blazer or with a suit vest, while a culotte is a welcome change to a traditional suit trouser.

Don’t shy away from getting those pins out! A longer line dress short and blazer is a great way to do summer suiting without the heaviness of a full suit.

Floaty wide leg pants are always so elegant (and they have breathing room!) while an obvious choice is always a dress - just add accessories and your outfit is complete.
