Tropical Print

Article by Caitlin Taylor

At our recent VIP night in the lovely Shore City, I ran a couple of workshops where we talked through three spring trends that I think almost anyone can wear.

And as promised in the workshops, I've written a series of THREE blog posts to reflect those three trends and a little bit of what we talked through in the workshops.
In this post, we're looking at one of my absolute favourite trends for spring/summer - THE TROPICAL PRINT.
I LOVE a colour or print trend because they are SO easy to wear! You're not restricted by the cut of a garment like some trends, all you have to do to jump on board with this look is to find a top, or skirt, or pant that YOU like, in this print and you're there!
Let's have a look at how I styled this trend at the recent workshops and how you can make it work ...
tropical print
GET THE LOOK AT SHORE CITY: Just Jeans summer shirt | Portmans tropical print skirt | Just Jeans coral necklace | Hannahs 'Isabella' sandals
Why I styled it this way: I picked this gorgeous skirt because I love the fresh white-based print (but remember, you could do pants, or a dress in this type of print too).
I've matched it back with a longer sleeved shirt because the skirt is quite short. The long sleeve shirt adds some balance to the look (plus it's great for arm coverage in summer, really light weight!).
The nude sandals help elongate the leg and the coral necklace pulls on the orange in the print - so fresh for spring!
Who it suits: Like I said above, the great thing about this trend is that it really DOES suit everyone! You just choose the version of the print, in the style or garment you want, and that suits you, and hey presto, you're rocking the tropical print trend!
This is SUCH a fun and fresh look for spring, and there are so many stores that are jumping on board with this print - Portmans is a favourite of mine for this trend so make sure you pop in and see the girls in the Shore City store (down the end near Farmers on Level 2).
Until Next Time, Happy Shopping
Cait xoxo
